Central Bank extension books
The Central Bank has published a series of books of general interest for all citizenry, including Iconografía de monedas y billetes chilenos: colección de monedas y billetes del Banco Central de Chile (Iconography of Chilean Coins and Bills: Collection of Coins and Bills of the Central Bank of Chile), presenting chronologically the iconographic analysis of the money that has circulated in Chile, from the first monetary issue in 1749 to date, present in the collection of coins and bills of the Central Bank of Chile. Another book of interest for all citizenry is La emisión de dinero en Chile: colección de monedas y billetes del Banco Central de Chile (The issuance of money in Chile: collection of coins and banknotes of the Central Bank of Chile) where it disseminates its collection of banknotes and coins that are part of Chile's national identity and cultural heritage.
Also in its concern to support the financial education program developed by the Bank, in 2016 it published Economía para todos (Economy for all) by Carlos Massad, former Governor of the Central Bank, a book that allows to improve the general understanding level of the operation of the economy, illustrate its concepts and explain to the public the work carried out by the Issuing Institute in this field.
Another book that stands out in this collection of Central Bank publications is Nueva familia de billetes para Chile (New family of banknotes for Chile), where readers can learn about the process of a very relevant experience in the history of the Central Bank and of our country, which began to take shape in 2006, ending in May 2011 with the release of the new 1,000 peso banknote, the last of the five denominations replaced.
